Real Estate Associate Job in Detroit, MI

Our client is seeking a Real Estate Associate with 3+ years of transactional real estate experience to join its Detroit practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing transactions, and commercial leasing.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, and commercial leases.
• Handle all phases of real estate transactions, from due diligence through closing.
• Review title commitments, surveys, zoning reports, and other property-related diligence materials.
• Coordinate closings and work with clients, lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel.
• Advise clients on transaction structure, risk assessment, and real estate-related legal issues.
• Manage multiple matters while maintaining direct client contact and responsibility.

Qualifications:

• J.D. and licensed to practice in Michigan, or eligible to waive into the Michigan Bar.
• At least 3 years of experience handling commercial real estate transactions.
• Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and commercial leasing.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage transactions efficiently.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and client-service skills.

Preferred Experience

• Representation of developers, investors, lenders, landlords, or tenants.
• Experience with development projects, joint ventures, or complex financing transactions.
• Exposure to sophisticated commercial real estate deals and multi-party transactions.
