Sphera Search is closing working with the Chicago office of an AmLaw firm on its search for a corporate attorney with public company experience. This firm’s Public Company Advisory Group offers its attorneys significant client contact, business development support, and a sophisticated practice that makes it a popular destination for lateral attorneys.
- Produce superb quality work for publicly listed corporations.
- Effectively communicate with attorneys and professional staff throughout the firm and the firm’s clients.
- Strive to develop continued expertise in public company representation.
- Seek to enhance relationships with existing clients and develop new business with companies that are not represented by the firm.
We are seeking an attorney with at least three (3) years of experience representing public companies on a variety of issues, which includes:
- Corporate governance
- ESG
- Advising a board of directors
- Securities offerings and filings
- Executing compensation
- Internal Controls
- Acting as an outside general counsel
Additional qualifications include:
- JD and an Illinois Bar License
- In-house attorneys with public company experience are welcome to apply for this position
- Minimum base salary for an associate in this role is $250,000 and the maximum is $415,000.
- Partner compensation in this group is greater than an associate, but a partner’s maximum compensation is variable based on whether a partner has business. However, portable business is not necessary for this role.
